Vogel, Lake Bohinj, Slovenia

Rising dramatically via cable car from 550m to 1800m (1800ft-6000ft), Vogel Ski Center stands closest of all Slovenian resorts to the Adriatic Sea. Because of its proximity to water, it receives excellent snowfall totals relative to its low elevation.

Nicely manicured cruisy pistes, short accessible off-piste hikes and a small yet well designed terrain park await resort rippers of all abilities & styles.

Views of unspoiled Lake Bohinj, tranquil Bohinj Valley, Triglav Peak and the lunar landscape atop Vogel`s glacial plateau provide for an unforgettable winter alpine experience.

ShredStory

We had to be a bit creative and careful on this particular day at Vogel.

The sun was shining & snow was everywhere, but high-winds and frigid temperatures the night before made the snowpack sketchy.

For this shot I hiked in one direction, the riders hiked in another and we came away with this picturesque frame of cold smoke spray complimenting a magical Julian Alps backdrop.
