Stevens Pass Ski Area, located in the Cascade Range of Washington 1.5 hours East of Seattle by car, is one of the US Pacific Northwest`s coolest, under-rated snow resorts.
Stevens isn`t extremely large, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with fun terrain, a laid-back vibe and excellent snow.
Unlike most Pacific Northwest (PNW) ski areas in Canada & the USA, snowpack at Stevens Pass isn`t heavy “West coast concrete.” The 450 inches (11.4 meters) of annual snowfall is surprisingly dry, light and obviously deep making off-piste riding & backcountry touring huge aspects of the snowsports culture at Stevens Pass.
ShredStory
On the best snow days at Stevens, playing in the steep-&-deep off Cowboy Ridge or Big Chief is a sure way to induce powdery smiles. But during a dry-spell or late season, cruising through the well-maintained terrain park below the Brooks Chair-lift is always a great way to spend your day at the ski hill. Here`s Dan`s solid indy grab part way through a smooth, floaty backside 540° toward Mount Howard & Mount Mastiff in the distance.
